We could not be happier that our first major renovation was with Dennis and HomeEditions. Our two floor addition was extremely complicated and complex where the existing finishes were staying as is & could not be damaged. Looking back on the process we think there are 2 major criteria to keep in mind when working with a contractor these criteria are quality, and communication. From a quality perspective, Dennis and his team were a 10 out of 10. Alan on the team was truly exceptional with a tremendous amount of attention to detail in everything he did. Our designs were also not completely straight forward and the HomeEditions team took the time to understand what we are trying to do and work towards an outcome that we were looking for. Dennis also sticks by his work which brought us allot of confidence as the project progressed. The second criteria communication is extremely important when you go through a project as complex as ours where there are a thousand changes, surprises, and decisions that need to be made and you have to work with someone that is reasonable and flexible and can give you choices as you face these decisions. Dennis did just that, we felt that we were working with a consultant, and not just a builder, when we had to make a decision. We felt that we could share our ideas and he did as well and we always seemed to reach a good decision on how to proceed. I can’t understate this point around communications, its not something you think about before a project, but its something you can’t live without when you start it. Also, Dennis is not only capable but truly a really great person and we always felt that he cared about our project and our experience throughout it. This reflected in how he accommodated changes and worked with us to find solutions that work for us and him. I should also note that we lived in the house during the construction and Dennis and his team made every effort to accommodate that by putting up partitions, keeping the site clean, and being mindful that we are living in the house when they are doing their work. Overall I would say our experience with Dennis, Alan, and the HomeEditions team was excellent. They are extremely experienced in what they do and they were very flexible and accommodating to our needs and changes to the project as we went along. And last, but certainly not least, the final work speaks for itself, our extension came out beautifully and we are extremely happy with our new space.
